Mod Designs was founded in March 2017 by Isaac & Cindy Diaz as a passion project—rooted in their shared love for modern home furnishings, comfortable living, and interior design.

Then, 2020 arrived, and everything changed.The COVID-19 pandemic reshaped the world overnight. Business after business, industry after industry, began shutting down. Fear and uncertainty gripped communities as people struggled to navigate the unknown. Like many others, we faced a harsh reality—furniture was not considered an essential business. We watched as foot traffic slowed, orders stalled, and the future of our company hung in the balance.But in the midst of uncertainty, an idea was born.

Before the pandemic, we had already built trust with our customers—not just as a furniture store, but as experts in furniture assembly and installation. Time and again, customers who had purchased furniture from us called for assistance when it came time to move. They needed help disassembling, packing, and transporting their furniture without damage—and they knew that we were the best at it.As we saw more and more of these requests, we recognized a pattern.

People needed moving help from someone they could trust—someone who understood furniture, fragile handling, and logistics.So, in 2020, Mod Moving was born.At a time when many businesses were struggling to stay afloat, moving was considered an essential service. Demand skyrocketed as people left the city, relocated for new jobs, or simply needed a fresh start. We found ourselves on the front lines—helping families and individuals move out of New York, New Jersey, and the entire tri-state area.Moving saved us. But more than that, it gave us a new purpose.

Fast forward to today, and Mod Designs is no longer just about furniture. We’ve evolved into a full-service home solutions company, bridging the gap between home furnishings, moving services, and home improvement.We are still passionate about furniture—but now, we do so much more.
